One way to cut wedding costs is to look for things that can be handmade by the bridal couple and their friends and family. When a wedding is put together using many do it yourself projects it will be more personal and more appreciated. The DIY wedding can be as classy as any other wedding with careful planning and some hard work. One thing that can definitely be achieved without too much effort is DIY wedding favors. There are so many ideas for DIY wedding favors that the bridal couple can pick something that will be easy for them to put together and will suit the friends and family who will be attending their wedding.DIY Wedding Favors With Candles
A really easy DIY wedding favor is to make tea light candle holders for each guest. The tea light candles can be purchased from craft supply and department stores in many colors and scents. The couple can pick a color that will blend with the colors and décor of the wedding. The candle can be placed in a small clear glass holder that can be decorated by the wedding couple. If one of the couple is artistic they can paint a nice design on the glass or they can paint or write the couples name and wedding date on the glass. If the couple doesn’t feel artistic enough to do this they may want to decorate the glass with ribbon, stickers or beads. Another simple DIY Wedding Favor is to make a scented potpourri and use it for sachets. There are great scented oils available from crafts stores that come in all sorts of scents. There are pine scents, spice scents, and floral scents that all make nice sachets for the homes of the guests. To make the potpourri the wedding couple can talk to local florists and arrange to purchase or even get for free the old flowers that the florists would normally throw out. The scented potpourri can be placed in fine netting or fabric pouches and tied with fabric ribbon which matches the colors of the wedding. These sachets can be used by the guest to scent a dresser drawer or used in a bathroom or other room to freshen the air.There are many other ideas for DIY wedding favors. With a little imagination the bride and groom can come up with some unique ideas that will impress all the wedding guests.
